Wannabe teachers forge documents for jobs

Biharsharif (Bihar):So what’s new? Fake Teacher eligibility test certificates! The  Nalanda district office of the Bihar education department has unearthed a big fraud. Officials deployed to verify 17,773 application forms submitted by aspiring teachers for about  2,971 vacant posts of teachers across the district, found that at least 889 certificates of Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) attached to the forms were either fake or tampered with.

These certificates did not match with the ones provided by Bihar school Examination Board (BSEB) which conducts the test.

The department also found academic certificates submitted by around 1,000 candidates suspicious prompting the officials to reject all such applications before preparing a final list of candidates which is to be published soon, said an education department official.

Islampur, Chandi, Tharthari, Asthawan, Rajgir and Parwalpur blocks were among the 20 blocks in the district where most of such anomalies were detected, said the officials.

Taking cognizance of large scale fraud by unscrupulous elements seeking teacher’s jobs on the basis of either fake TET or academic certificates, Nalanda DM B Kartikey said all those found guilty of  using fraudulent means will be booked.
