Patna to host ‘9 parts of Desire’

English language theatre will blossom, but briefly, at the Premchand Rangshala in Patna. Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday will be when the renowned theatre and film personality Lillete Dubey will direct and feature in two distinct presentations.

The first is  “30 days of September” by the well known playwright Mahesh Dattani, on April 4, and the second will be a solo performance of Heather Raffo’s “9 parts of desire on April 5”. Time 7 pm onwards.

Lillete Dubey has displayed her brilliant acting talent in films like  Monsoon Wedding , Baghban , Pinjar , and Hollywood films like ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ and its sequel in which she is featuring with Richard Gere .

‘30 Days in September’ stars Lillete Dubey,  Darshan Jariwala, Ira Dubey and Joy Sengupta   is an intense and gripping tale of love and betrayal that explores the brutal severance of the unbreakable    bond between adult and child.

‘9 Parts of Desire’, a solo performance by Ira Dubey is an internationally acclaimed off Broadway one-woman hit that has received multiple awards around the world ” 9 Parts of Desire” details the lives of nine Iraqi women that span the decades between the first and second Gulf wars and the occupation. A portrait of the extraordinary (and ordinary) lives of a cross-section of Iraqi women

The organiser of the event Shouvik Narain says ‘ such theatre are rare in Patna and its a great opportunity for the people to watch world class plays with their unique set design, direction and brilliant acting. It is a big challenge to organise such events in Patna, even so, there is tremendous enthusiasm and expectations.

East and West Educational Society is hosting this event, which is being supported by Hotel Maurya, COMFED and WDC .
